Digital Collage Photoshop Tutorials
Lately, my favourite art style to create has been digital collage. I’ve always been a fan of the cut and paste aesthetic, probably because I’m not great at drawing and I’m lazy. However, people often ask how I make these designs. The simple answer is Photoshop and a scanner.
And how did I learn to do this on Photoshop, you ask? YouTube tutorials. Lots and lots of Youtube tutorials.
Honestly, if you’re interested in becoming a professional graphic designer, all you need is YouTube, an adobe subscription, and some patience. Art school is great for networking and learning the artistic process, but the amount of knowledge and step-by-step tutorials available for free online is astounding.
Recently, I’ve been leaning into a kind of cyber-hypebeast-glitch-punk-collage aesthetic (I know, I’m so good at describing aesthetics) which I’ve had a lot of fun learning. So, I thought why not share my findings with all you fine people on the internet.
If you're having trouble finding an aesthetic you like, or just want to explore more possibilites you can check out How to Find Your Aesthetic Inspiration.
And instead of making my own YouTube videos, I’ve compiled a handful of Photoshop tutorials to help you learn some basic techniques to start doing digital collage.
Tutorial Watching Pro Tip: Use the playback speed feature on YouTube to speed up or slow down the video. This can help you keep up with the tutorial or speed up the process if it’s dragging on a bit.
