4 Useful Web Tools for UX Designers
There are tons of useful websites and tools out there today for UX designers!
And since ‘knowing is half the battle’ (Yes, that’s a quote from the G.I Joe cartoon), I’ve decided to share four helpful web tools for your next UX or web design project.
The CSS Almanac
This quick reference guide to the many features of CSS is something you may want to keep bookmarked. The CSS Almanac is neatly organised into two different categories – selectors and properties – and alphabetical order. If you’re looking to learn more about UX design, CSS-Tricks is a helpful website for useful snippets of code, videos, and web development articles.
Pantone Color Finder
Finding the perfect Pantone colour is now easier than ever! Pantone’s new free Colour Finder tool allows you to pick, search, and convert colours in Pantone's colour chip library. The intuitive and easy to navigate interface allows you to narrow down colours by hues and smooth orders, as well as searching by name and RGB, HEX, or CMYK codes.
Once you’ve found the colour you like, just click on the swatch to reveal its RGB, HEX, or CMYK numbers. Searching through Pantone’s vast library of swatches is also a great way to find colour inspiration for your website or design projects.
Google Draw
Not a fan of the Adobe suite?
Don’t want to shell out the cash for a Photoshop subscription?
Then Google Draw is your free, lightweight alternative! Extremely useful for doing quick prototyping, Google Draw is great if your design work tends to be in vector based elements like logos or design mockups.
However, if you’re looking for a program to work on heavy 3D GPU elements, you may find that Google Draw isn’t entirely up to speed. But being part of the Google apps suite, you can expect an easy to use interface and the benefit of being able to work from different devices smoothly.
Humaaans
Speed up your design process with this mix-&-match design library of illustrated people. Humaaans allows you to select, rotate, and position a collection of design elements to create your own unique vector illustrations. Free for commercial or personal use, Humaaans works the best when used with either the Invision or Sketch App.
