Free Design Assets: Mock-ups, Fonts, Templates, and More
Everybody loves freebies and cutting costs can be great for both new and experienced designers. It’s nice to be able to test mockups or assets out before you purchase them. There’s a wealth of free assets made by incredibly talented people for you to take advantage of.
However, the best designers know that you get what you pay for. Shelling out a little money can save you time and legal headaches down the line.
Remember to pay close attention to the usage rights of free design assets. Some may require crediting the creator or author and some have a limited number of uses in commercial applications. While others may be only free for personal use. It’s important to know what licensing you’re agreeing to when downloading. And as a general rule of thumb, it’s better to be certain you can use something than operating in a grey area.
