Web analytics tools provide incredible ways to track the performance of your website and online campaigns. I've said it before and I'll say it again... "You Treasure What You Measure!"

But I am often asked what you should measure with a website?

  1. Money Metrics

    How much revenue generated or costs saved? Revenues should be included in Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports.
     
  2. Visitor Value Metrics

    What visitors have the greatest impact on your website's revenues? This involves segmenting traffic. For example, do repeat visitors provide more revenues than first-time visitors.
     
  3. Marketing Metrics

    Which campaigns provide the most revenue? This metric helps guide decision-making to attract high-value visitors? For example, what is the difference between visitors who arrive from a Pay Per Click campaign versus Search Engine Listings or Email Campaigns?
     
  4. Navigation & Usability
